tour guide anecdotes
  • ray, city tour guide: "that's where the WTO meeting was held. it's a good thing there weren't any problems, everything was under control. unlike in other places where they hold WTO meetings, they have rallies and demonstrations, like seattle, where they have too much human rights."
  • calvin, batam, indonesia tour guide: "i was talking to a chinese friend of mine and we're used to combining mandarin and english when we talk. one day, i visited him and there were filipino nurses around. he asked me, 'hey, how is your titi*?' i said, 'oh, he's good, he's growing everyday.' the filipino nurses were all laughing and i didn't know why until a male nurse told me."
* titi in mandarin, so he said, is 'little brother.' here in the philippines, it's the male organ.
