1. It won't kill you to be more pleasant and considerate of other people's feelings. We're here to help you, but you're making us feel unwanted. Treat people nicely now and you won't feel guilty afterwards about not treating people as nicely as you should have. You're behaving like the person we've all grown to detest over the past few weeks: sneering, ill-tempered, and inconsiderate.

2. Understand that we no longer wish to have anything to do with him. I've been trying to protect you for the past decade, but it seems my efforts are for naught and it's time I looked after myself, too.

3. I will never turn to you again for help and assistance. You've flaked out on me far too often, and I'm sorry it took me this long to really realize it.

4. Dude, honestly, that is not a problem. There are so many, many other things in life that can be considered real problems. That is not one of them.

5. I still wonder if we could really, truly be friends. Despite my doubts, however, I'm still interested in finding out, although it's not even as though you've made much of an effort over the years to sustain that friendship.

6. You do what you can, and it's admirable when you step up and take charge, but to hand you accolades for those sporadic bursts of thoughtfulness and concern turns us into something like a beggar rejoicing over crumbs, crumbs.

7. I tried reaching out to you, but, well, you just don't want to. So forget about that.

8. I hate you and I feel sorry for you at the same time, for reasons you probably aren't even capable of understanding. Here's a suggestion, though: Why don't you just stay there and leave us alone?

10. Please don't be depressed all the time. You have a good life, a loving family, and enormous talent. You just need to focus and make things happen.
