What next?

FitSugar featured an interesting news bit that said women born to women with big hips are more likely to get breast cancer. Apparently, wider hips mean a woman has great amounts of estrogen, thus upping the breast cancer risk. And here I was thinking big hips simply had to do with fat gathering in that area as well as a wide pelvis.

As a sister with hips, I'm not worried about this at all. I'm thinking this is all just part of a conspiracy to get women to hate their bodies even more. Besides, if we paid attention to all the research results thrown our way, we'd never get anything done.

I never understood it, though. Even in high school, I was teased for having wide hips and I never figured why they were such a bad thing. Since when did wide hips become the instrument of the devil anyway?

if hips are a manifestation of naturally high estrogen levels, i don't think anyone can do anything about that... talagang mas malaki ang risk ng estrogen-related cancer. since i got my mother's hips (and boobs. and cancer genes), i know i'm at an increased risk of breast cancer, i don't think that's a reason to hate my body. besides, i look better than skinny girls in jeans :P
