Ah, the things that make the news.

  • Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales on Wednesday urged priests and the laity to storm the heavens with prayers and seek divine intervention for more rains to come. Seriously, this deserves to be in a major broadsheet? It's ridiculous and it's annoying how the church makes statements like this. Corrupt politicians? Pray that they see the light. Too much rain? Pray for it to stop. Some concrete, realistic ideas would be nice for a change.

  • "I would not want to be intimate with someone whose body is literally made up from the bodies of others who have died for their sustenance," she said. Statements like this is one reason why a lot of people think vegans and vegetarians are odd and self-righteous. Self-righteousness = eww. The way she said it, you'd think meat-eaters' bodies are actually chunks of beef or something.

    Being annoyed so early (for me anyway) in the morning = not good.
