Heehee

Who remembers Isko Moreno? Apparently the rest of the country does, and it amused me no end when I found out a while back that he's Manila's vice mayor and is planning to restore the Met Theater. Heehee. I remember the last time I was there was high school freshman year. I think. We watched a production of Ibong Adarna and there was another school watching it that day as well and they were a rowdy bunch. Or maybe it wasn't at the Met at all and wasn't even Ibong Adarna and I've forgotten everything. Wouldn't be a surprise.

Anyway, good on ya Isko, if you pull it off.

Whoa. White Rabbit contains formaldehyde? There's a shocker. I've loved the stuff since I was a kid and have always been fascinated by the edible 'plastic' wrapper. I remember foolishly trying to peel it off until a classmate told me it's edible. It's quite good. Or maybe it was the delectable taste of formaldehyde affecting my brain all these years.

Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows comes out on Saturday! I already reserved my copy a couple of months ago and I absolutely cannot wait. There probably won't be a crush of people waiting to stampede into the nearest National Bookstore to nab their own copy, but I still have every intention of showing up early that day. Now if I can only get rid of the habit of waking up at 1:00 PM.

Speaking of books and bookstores, there's been a lot of Powerbooks and Fully Booked branches popping up all over the metropolis lately. Bookstores are love, this I know very well, but somehow, I can't get excited over the new branches anymore. Once upon a time, I would have been thrilled to death, but these days, I am all about secondhand bookshops. They're hella cheap (Why do you keep saying 'hella', Cartman?) and you can find some real gems. But what I'd really love to see is a nice, well-stocked library. Mmm...library *drools*. This city just screams for one.
