Stupid COMELEC

The post-election excitement is well underway, and it's been two days after the elections with no end yet in sight for the tallying. What can one expect, really? It's been this way for decades. I wonder if people aren't pushing for automation so they can still use the good old methods of ballot snatching, intimidation, and making one's goons run off with election materials. Come on, people, get with the times! Guns, goons, and gold is so last century and totally unimaginative! Explore other avenues of cheating! Computerized elections will give politicians an opportunity to come up with new ways to make themselves come out on top of the polls! Look at Micah Sanders! Now that's one-touch cheating. True, a lot of goons who will cheerfully kill for P5,000 will be unemployed, but think of it this way: sure you're still committing fraud but you're doing it in a less violent way, sparing a lot of lives in the process.

Unless you decide to off the people you hired to do the hacking and all. Gods, there's always a problem somewhere.

And then there's news that COMELEC is barring all unofficial tallies and quick counts from being publicized. What is up with that? For years and years, unofficial tallies have always been broadcast, so it's highly suspicious for that dratted COMELEC to issue such a directive this time around.
