Ah, to be young, bright-eyed, and bushy-tailed. I just finished reading the speech delivered by UP's 16-year-old summa cum laude graduate, also known as Mikaela Fudolig, online. No offense meant to her, it's just that a lot of people know her more as "that 16-year-old college graduate" rather than by her proper name.
Funnily enough, I have no idea how the summa cum laude's speech went at my graduation, holy shit, years ago. Probably because I didn't go to the university graduation, and even if someone did make a speech at the college graduation, I didn't pay attention. I just wanted the whole thing to be over because my heels were killing me. That's right. Instead of ruminating on the joy of having completed my education, earning my degree, and facing the future, I wanted to go home, take my shoes off, wash off the makeup on my face, and go to sleep. Oh yeah, thoughts of the future popped up from time to time, mostly along the lines of, "Haha, yeah. I'm totally gonna fuck it up" and "I wonder how many History graduates will be walking the Earth feeling lost and confused after the ceremonies."
