I should be distressed about the news hounding the headlines as of late, to think that we've been in the international news three times this month already and it's only February. (We're going to have a hell of a yearend recap, I'm thinking) I should be wringing my hands and wanting to leap into the world to save it, and I should be lamenting the fact that the country is really, truly going to the dogs.

Instead, I've just been drifting along dreamily, happy to have gotten away from Manila for nearly a week. My sister and I attended her friend's wedding in Davao and flew to Palawan afterwards, where I re-realized that Manila is really not the center of the universe and, beyond the political unrest, the traffic, and the pollution, life goes on pretty much quietly everywhere.







I'm going to need to visit Palawan three more times just to see everything I want to see.

I'm really looking forward to moving out of Manila in the future. There's a lot of beauty in the country that other people don't even know about because all they see in front of them is the grime of the city.
