The year in review

2005 was good, it was really good. I've been to new places around the country. I took a long holiday from work which allowed me to experience new things and helped me rethink my life. I also developed an even greater fondness for vegetables. It wasn't always peachy, since for the past month or so, I've been running myself ragged with the amount of work I'm juggling plus I've been unhappy at work. But happily, I've gotten up the courage to file my resignation nine days ago, effective in the third week of this month, so that should be the start of something good. I really should fear the prospect of unemployment, but I'm feeling good about the chance to find something that will make me happier. I'm not saying I will find my Ultimate Dream Job, but by gods, my next job is bound to be a lot better and more challenging.

At some point during the year, I've found out that what would really make me happy is having the chance to spend more time with my family, friends, and my boyfriend. My current-soon-to-be-former job barely allows that time, what with the required 10-hour workdays. So this year, I'm looking forward not just to finding a nice job, but also something that's flexible enough to give me time with People Who Really Matter.

Overall, I intend to be good to myself this year. I'll see more places, eat better, get more exercise, get out in the relatively fresh air, and get more sleep. I have a good feeling about 2006 and I certainly hope I'm not wrong.
