Countdown to 2006

I'm halfway through Sideways, which encouraged me to push our bar downstairs into a more accessible position and obtain some wineglasses in which some very nice sparkling red grape juice will be poured. Hahaha.

And now, a popular meme of sorts. 2006 isn't far off, but better late than never.

Instructions: Copy and paste the first sentence(s) from your first entry of each month this past year. What better way to sum up your year and make a countdown to '06!

January: After experimenting with WordPress and downloading Movable Type, I've fallen back on a reliable old friend who never fails to disappoint: Blogger. I *heart* you, Blogger.

February: Yes, yessss, Neil Gaiman, do come to the Philippines. *cradles my Smoke and Mirrors and Good Omens*. And if it's okay, could you ask Terry Pratchett to tag along as well?

March: Anybody remember the Game & Watch? So good to see Octopus alive once again.

April: Prettier In Pink? After too many years, NOW they're releasing a sequel?

May: I reckon I would need to make three more trips to Palawan to see the entire island.

June: I was (not unreasonably) spooked at the ATM machine earlier.

July: This is the first chance I got to post here since I arrived in the US July 1st. Hence, there shall be lots of stories.

August: A visit to Mark Twain's house in Hartford only confirmed that I was correct in admiring the man.

September: So I finally buckled down and spent the evening watching the news. I really can't believe it took the US government that long to respond to the crisis at hand.

October: I have not visited Inq7.net in a while, and see what greets me the moment the site loads.

November: I got roped into watching a play and a musical this weekend. My sister's friends were in town hence a trip to the city was necessary.

December: It's December and my birthday is coming up! Yeah!

Overall, it hasn't been a bad year, not by a long shot. It's actually been a hoot and I'm really pretty excited about 2006.
